disney is a destination - not a designer. (part I)
posted by modern mama on Friday Mar 23, 2007 under fashion, generali often wonder why disneyland and disney stores sell character clothing in adult sizes (just like i wonder WHY they make spandex in XXL sizes, but that’s a whole other subject entirely), but when i leave my house only to discover that the reason why they do is because adults actually BUY and WEAR this stuff in public! yes, adults spend their hard earned money to wear a mouse with no shirt or a duck with no pants across their chest! this is all i am going to say on this subject because these are consenting adults making these fashion faux paus, but just for the record - disney is a destination, not a designer! don’t get me wrong - vintage mickey or snoopy, etc is COOL - but if it’s not vintage, than just say no…

And how about the upcoming Halloween costumes? I want my precious offspring to wear funky, old-school costumes (either Pottery Barn or quaintly homemade), but all they want are gastly nylon polyester jumpsuits and matching skullcaps with the latest super hero’s emblem. Talk about SCARY!

I think the folks at Diseny no a little more about what is in fashion then you do. They make them because people buy them. Obviosly you have never been to Disneyland. You also seem to be ragging on overweight mothers and fashion. For your information, the average woman is 5’4 and 145 pounds. I think some of your post are right, but the majority are offending to the average mom.
